Garden railways is a Handbook originally published by the Guild in 1984 and some details, such as sources of supply and further reference material, may no longer be available. Similarly, it does not reflect advances in the hobby since that time. Please be aware of these limitations. Much of the content may well be of interest and the handbook still contains some useful information for anyone considering venturing into the garden.

Important note: there are references in the Handbook to the use of asbestos-based material for baseboard construction. This cannot now be purchased for health reasons and should not be used under any circumstances. If your layout contains such material, you are advised to seek professional advice about its removal.
