These buffers are a spin off from Accurascale's recently introduced ready to run BR 24.5 ton hopper.
The bufferheads and rams are chemically blackened, non-ferrous metal, sensibly sprung and factory assembled into very neatly moulded plastic stocks that incorporate a footstep. Separate bases, again moulded in black plastic, are also included. The bases include rivet detail.
Installation is simply a matter of carefully gluing in place in an appropriately sized hole in the headstock bufferbeam) taking care not to flood the join with excess adhesive that might risk gluing everything solid.
They would be suitable for upgrading older wagons or replacing basic or substandard castings in kits. At the price, they are exceedingly good value and thoroughly recommended.
