Key: - Layout, - Trade, - Announcement, - Demonstration, 🤝 - Meeting

Nigel Paine - Building a DJH LNER/BR G5 0-4-4T

Nigel assembles an Easy Build tank locomotive kit.

The kit is designed to be simple to build, making it ideal for modellers new to 'O' gauge kit building.

Chris Fry (Area 9, Chilterns), Ken Gray (Area 7, Eastern Counties), Ian Allen (Area 14, Overseas)
🤝 Talk to three of our Constituency Representatives about their role, and find out how they try to help new members, liaise with local clubs and local exhibitions or, in Ian’s case, how he is supporting the representatives and members overseas.

This is an ideal opportunity to also suggest ways in which you would like the representatives to communicate with you and for you.

James Aitken - Decoder Pro

James introduces Decoderpro, a free program to setup your DCC loco and maintain a roster of your locos.

The program displays all the features of the decoder in an easy to use way instead of using the CV numbers.

Ellis Clark - General Talk / Q&A

Ellis has spent a life surrounded by railways, growing up in the National Railway Museum and digging through the odd model railway collection his dad, Andrew of Andrew Clark Models, acquired in the trade.

He’ll be happy to answer any questions about the business, current projects and you can even try and ask the ‘What are you announcing next?’ question!

Richard Clark - 🤝 Meet the Guild Secretary

Richard's term of office ends in September 2022. It is a very interesting role which covers much more that writing minutes at meetings.

Talk to Richard about what being a Company Secretary does involve.

John Birch - 🤝 Meet the Guild Chairman

John took up the role of Chairman in September 2020 so it is a perfect time to ask him about his role, what has been achieved so far, and what he hopes will be achieved during his term of office.

Nick Dunhill - Rolling and soldering a boiler

Nick will be demonstrating the fabrication of a locomotive boiler. He will show how to make formers and a boiler wrapper, and how to use slip rollers to make the tube.

Nick will demonstrate how to solder and finish the boiler fabrication.

Pete Waterman - Leamington Spa

In 2003 Dr Pete Waterman OBE decided to create what is one of the largest mainline O gauge model railway in the UK.
A video of Leamington Spa is included on the Layouts page - join Pete for a Q & A session.

Anthony Garton - Poppy's Woodtech

A look at recent developments, and an overview of the product range, showing how simple it can be to building popular structures.

Modeller and viewer Q&A.

Nigel Paine - Building a DJH LNER/BR G5 0-4-4T - Part 2

Nigel continues his demonstration of building the G5 0-4-4 tank locomotive.

Chris Walsh - Bryceborough & Dottisford

When he retired in 2015, Chris converted his home office to a railway room. It is just 12ft by 10ft – ideal for an OO layout!

Watch the video on the Layouts page and then chat to Chris in this Q & A session about what turned out to be an O gauge layout.

Colin French, Jeremy Thompson - 🤝 Small layouts

Jeremy and Colin both have videos in the Layouts section of this show demonstrating that small layouts really are possible in O gauge.

Join them for this Q & A session about what they have achieved in a small space.

Chris Fry (Area 9, Chilterns), Ken Gray (Area 7, Eastern Counties), Ian Allen (Area 14, Overseas)
🤝 Another chance to meet your guild representatives, and to ask questions to the guild in general, or indeed about their roles.

Anthony Garton - Poppy's Woodtech

Station landscape, Loco Builder Boxes and Coaches.
Looking at effective use of kits in a realistic environment.

Expert and customer comments are discussed.

Graham Sheppard - Live Steam - Crewchester

“Crewchester” is a long-established name in garden railway circles. It was originated by Jack Ray, the Guild’s first President, for his garden layout. It lasted from 1952 to 2002 but the station buildings and name were handed on to Graham by Jack for his layout in Colchester.

Watch the video of Crewchester on the Layouts page and then join Graham for this Q & A session

Philip Healey-Pearce - Intentio Q&A

Philip answers questions about laser cut modelling:

How are laser cut kits designed and made? Hints and tips for construction, gluing, painting and decorating laser cut buildings. What to avoid?

John Edwards, Nigel Smith - 82G

Being predominantly locomotive modellers, Nigel Smith, John Edwards and the team who started the Loco Clinic wanted a layout to show off their stock.

What better than a loco shed layout. Watch the video of 82G on the Layouts page and then join Nigel and John for this Q&A session

Paul Gohl - 3D printing a whole layout

Paul wanted to see how far he could push his inexpensive filament 3D printer to create detailed and accurate models in strict O gauge guild specifications.

Each model on this layout have been drawn up and designed using a 3D modelling CAD program.
Watch the video about this layout in the Demonstrations section of the show, and then join Paul for this Q & A session
