This first appeared in the forum and was written by Mike Hopkins.

Step 1
First create a sketch showing the section through profile of door, hinge and revolve cut profiles.

Step 2
Next create plan view of door and hinge straps. This done by creating a second sketch plane at 90 degrees from the first.

So that you end up with two sketch profiles

Now revolve the door dish profile

Step 4
Then extrude the door straps through the door, and make sure you select 'join' as the default will be 'Cut'. You will need to show the sketches by clicking on the “eye” just to the left of each sketch name in the list of skwtches.

Step 5
Now revolve the cut profile to cut the tops off the straps and you get nice thin straps on top of the revolved disc.

Step 6
and then extrude the hinge knuckles

Finally finish off as required.
