Judith Edge KitsLocomotives - diesel & electric Kits British Railways  Barclay 0-4-0DM D2410-44, BR class 06 - Andrew Barclay & Co of Kilmarnock built 35 of these locomotives between 1958 and 1960. Numbered in the range D2410-D2444 and later 06001-06010, the last were withdrawn in 1981. This kit builds either 2 or 3 window version.
Judith Edge KitsLocomotives - diesel & electric Kits British Railways  Barclay 204hp 0-6-0DM D2400 - These ten locos were built in 1956/7 for BR Eastern region (Classified DJ/14) and were originally numbered 11177-86. They were based on Barclays existing industrial shunter design and used the ubiquitous Gardner 8L3 engine with a four speed gearbox. They spent most of their lives in Lincolnshire and were scrapped in 1969/70. Motor, gears and buffers not included.
Judith Edge KitsLocomotives - diesel & electric Kits British Railways  BR (WR) PWM 650 Ruston 165DE 0-6-0DE. This is the 0-6-0 version of the 165DS kit and is based on the example bought by the Western Region permanent way department, in use from 1953 to 1991. Similar locos were built for industrial use.
Judith Edge KitsLocomotives - diesel & electric Kits British Railways  BR had five of these small Barclay 0-4-0DM shunters, two remaining in use until 1982 (On the Holyhead breakwater).
Judith Edge KitsLocomotives - diesel & electric Kits Hunslet Engine Co  Hunslet 403hp 0-6-0DH - These locomotives were built between 1971 and 1978 for hauling ingot cars at British Steels Templeborough works. The specification was for a loco no larger than the existing Fowler 0-4-0 diesel electrics but with twice the tractive effort and still able to go round 90 reverse curves. The end result was a loco with 6" Thick frames and 8" Thick buffer beams - even the footplate is 3" Thick. This massive frame, weighing 27 tons on its own, presents some problems in a model - most of our materials are far too thin for once. Only seven were built, all with the special drawgear and centre buffers for the ingot cars, but more recently three went to Rover at Longbridge for more general shunting duties, these are now operated by Harry Needle.
Judith Edge KitsLocomotives - diesel & electric Kits London Midland & Scottish  Hunslet 150hp 0-6-0DM, LMS 7051 - This loco, the first diesel shunter built by Hunslet in 1932, was bought by the LMS. Later used in industry, it has been preserved on the Middleton Railway since 1960.
Judith Edge KitsLocomotives - diesel & electric Kits North Eastern  NER Bo+Bo Newport - Shildon locos Nos. 3-12, later LNER/BR class EF1 Although the line was de-electrified in 1935 the locos remained in store as BR 26502-10 until 1950. The kit is etched in nickel silver and is designed to use Black Beetle power bogies, as with the ES1 unpowered bogies are supplied with the kit.
Judith Edge KitsLocomotives - diesel & electric Kits North Eastern  EE1 ( NER 2-Co-2 No.13) - NER No.13 was a prototype express loco for the proposed York-Newcastle electrification. The kit is mostly etched in nickel silver with some brass parts and includes parts to build the pantographs and the distinctive quill drive wheels.
Judith Edge KitsLocomotives - diesel & electric Kits North Eastern  NER Bo-Bo electric (BR 26500/1) - non-powered bogies are provided in the kit. No buffers provided, otherwise can be built as any version NER, LNER or BR except for the original with bow collector.
Judith Edge KitsLocomotives - diesel & electric Kits North Eastern  LNER/BR rebuild of NER EF1 Bo-Bo electric locos as class EB1.
Judith Edge KitsLocomotives - diesel & electric Kits North Eastern  LNER/BR EB1 26510 - the rebuild of No11. This was done with a view to using the class as bankers on the Worsborough incline but before the electrification there was switched on 26510 went to Ilford to shunt the carriage sheds and remained there until 1964.
Judith Edge KitsLocomotives - diesel & electric Kits Ruston & Hornsby  Ruston 48DS kit. This kit covers most variations of the standard gauge 48DS, the original open sided cab is shown but parts are included for the later closed cab and deep buffer beam versions.
Judith Edge KitsLocomotives - diesel & electric Kits Ruston & Hornsby  The 88DS was the largest of the chain drive Rustons, built in large numbers from the early 1950s. The earliest had an open sided cab (Not covered in this kit) but the vast majority had a fully enclosed cab. The kit covers several variations in this cab with different window frame types and a later version with larger rear windows. Other variations mainly concern the cast iron weights fitted to the buffer beams and solebars. BR owned a number of 88s, the best known being WR departmental No20 which worked at Reading signal works and lasted long enough to be painted in blue livery. Another batch of departmental 88s were built for the North Eastern region.
Judith Edge KitsLocomotives - diesel & electric Kits Ruston & Hornsby  Ruston and Hornsby 165DS 0-4-0DM - The Ruston 165DS was introduced as a standard design in 1946 and 124 were built in several varieties. The 0-4-0 standard gauge version had 33" Wheels, a Ruston 165hp engine and weighed 29 tons. This kit is intended to build one of the two locos bought by British Railways in 1956 but it can easily be adapted to build the very similar industrial version. The two BR locos were numbered 11507/8, later D2957/8.
Judith Edge KitsLocomotives - diesel & electric Kits Sentinel  Sentinel 230hp 0-4-0DH - Built in the same style as the 6 wheel locos these come in both chain drive and rod drive form, the kit can be built as either type. The chain drive version fits on a Tenshodo motor bogie, axles are provided for the rod drive version. Motor, gears and buffers not included. included.
Judith Edge KitsLocomotives - diesel & electric Kits Sentinel  Sentinel 325hp 0-6-0DH - These locos were produced in considerable numbers over many years by Sentinel, then Rolls Royce later by Thomas Hill and most recently by RFS. Many are still in use in a wide variety of industrial locations. Motor, gears and buffers not included.
