Width of cutting blade 2,5mm (.098in.) Max. capacity (mild steel) 1,2mm (.048in.) |
| Midland Railway Centre | Tools & Materials | Forming tools & jigs | | | | NT | NOTCHING TOOL*
A very useful tool for cutting out irregular shapes, or producing large holes (round or rectangular) in sheet metal. Will handle mild steel, brass, nickel-silver, aluminium, plastics, up to 1,2mm (.048in.) thick. Especially useful for cutting out window apertures etc.
Width of cut 6mm (.236in.), depth of cut 1,6mm (.064in.). For apertures, it is first necessary to drill a hole of 11mm. (.440in.) dia. |
| Midland Railway Centre | Tools & Materials | Forming tools & jigs | | | | WFT | WIRE-FLATTENING TOOL
A clever device for squeezing soft wire (brass, silver or copper) into flat strip. The wire is threaded between the rollers and tensioned with a steady pull whilst applying pressure to the handles. Typical uses for flattened wire include boiler bands for model locomotives, rain strips and beading for carriages, jewellery making.
Max. wire diameter 1,0mm (.040in.) |
| Midland Railway Centre | Tools & Materials | Forming tools & jigs | | | | DT6 | DRILLING TABLE
A simple solution to the problem of holding small, thin pieces when drilling. The table has a matrix of tapped holes into which are attached clamps. The clamps hold the parts safely and securely, thus eliminating the risk of injury to the fingers. Useful for holding two or more stacked components which must be drilled exactly the same. Small table has two clamps, the larger one has four. Additional clamps are available separately. The clamps have vee grooves to enable round bar to be held.
Table size 152 x 63mm (6 x 2.5in.) Includes 2 clamps (illustrated). |

Table size 305 x 63mm (12 x 2.5in.) Includes 4 clamps. |
