Love Lane is a large oval (12.5 metres x 6 meters) S7 layout.
Love Lane depicts a former Great Eastern line in the outer London suburbs somewhere near Epping Forest in the late 1950s. Mainly steam but as the day progresses we introduce a few appropriate diesels on some of the trains. It is currently undergoing a significant rebuild and is unlikely to be available for exhibition until 2024. The layout is a double track oval, with a modest goods yard. Particular attention has been given to the scenic element and to avoid crowding the layout, attempting to keep the flowing lines of the prototype. Control is DCC and our aim is to keep as much activity as possible in front of the audience. Platform level video cameras with pictures shown on monitors give visitors a different view of operations.
