The yard is the end of the short line branch owned by the "Lyttelton & western Railway". As well as L&W power, you could see locomotives from any hired in, visiting companies. Standard gauge, single ended switching yard, utilising a "sector plate" to save on length of layout. DCC operation, with Diesel locomotives. Visiting DCC 2 rail loco's and guest operators welcome, (subject to ability) .

The Club has two O gauge running tracks (approximately 6 6 radius) - one of which is exclusively 2 rail, the other is wired for 2 or 3 rail use.

Engine shed with servicing and stabling facilities. Sequence from the grouping, through nationalisation to blue diesels. DCC sound in most locomotives. Layout can be operated with six people, but eight is best.

A continous double circuit layout size 35 x 16 feet. Including a four track section, double junction, branch line, goods yard and train storage loops. The layout had been under construction for 10 years and includes scenery, buildings and signals.

Ackthorpe in 4 mm/OO Gauge

The model, built to 0 Gauge Fine Scale, is set in Era 3 (1950-1970) and located in the Ahr Valley in Germany. Motive power is a mixture of steam and diesel locomotives. Control of the locomotives is Digital and all are sound equipped. Control of signals and trackwork is conventional. The layout is, at present, 8.54m (28) long and 0.92m (3) wide. German standard gauge DCC. The layouts set in Epoch 3 around 1965 when steam and diesel locos are in use. Set in the Air valley around 25miles from thew Rhein the layout is based on reality but with a bit of licence. Stock is from Lenz, Brawa, Fulgurex and some kit built stock from various German suppliers. The layout comes with its own LED lighting and requires 3 or four operators. A luton van is needed to transport to venues. Happy to travel up to 100 miles unless show allows staying over on the Sunday night

Set 1985 - 1990 in the north west around the Cumbria area. 7mm scale / 0 gauge fine-scale standards. A new layout due to make its debut in October 2022 after which it will be available for shows.

Originally called the Layout in a Shed and created for BRM magazines. We have extended this roundy roundy layout Amberdale is a single line secondary route through the Peak District of North Derbyshire in the late 1950s to early 1960s. Motive power for this period is steam with early green diesels.

The layout was constructed to show the transition between an open frame baseboard to fully completed layout within the space of seven feet. As much basics in railway construction and type are depicted, with types of rail and scenery construction along with some rudimentary electrics for point and track control. It is built to show railway layout construction in its easiest form.

A diorama type layout depicting the start to finish of a layout in the space of seven feet!! It starts with an open frame, through various type of baseboard to a completed siding. It has working demonstrations of point motors and signals.

36.75mm fine scale Irish broad gauge. Based on Sligo, Leitrim & Northern Counties Railway. A proposed, but never built line to the coal mines near Arigna. Set in 1950s and runs with a mix of SLNCR and MGW stock - all scratch or kit built. Analogue powered, with LED lighting and a sliding & rotating fiddle yard. Has appeared in Railway Modeller & BRM

4mm scale model of SVRs station at Arley, acquired second hand. This has provided us with a ready made layout, suitable for exhibition purposes.

9ft x 2ft 3in minimum space layout representing a small ex-LBSCR urban terminus at the end of a minor branch line on the outskirts of a large south coast town. The period is 1930s Southern Railway or early BR, depending on available stock. It is interesting to operate and, we hope, to watch.
