Clubs & Groups - Three Counties Model Railway Society
Club News

Tuesday 15 June 2010

A small, but very friendly Model Railway Club. The Three Counties Model Railway Society (Formerly the Mentmore Model Railway Group.) which is based near Aston Abbotts, was founded in 1997 by two local residents and London commuters who discovered their mutual interest in model railways whilst waiting for their early morning train. Since then the group has grown very slowly, due to difficulties in locating suitable permanent premises. Now we have moved into our own club room, with sufficient space for our existing layouts plus future projects and is available 24/7, so we are able to welcome new members. The Society currently has a small 2mm scale continuous run layout, 2, 4mm scale layouts, based on L.M.S. practice together with a large, continuous run, double track main line layout in 7mm scale which has been in store for some time. We also have plans for a 2mm & 4mm exhibition standard layouts in the very near future.

Meetings

We recently moved into our new clubroom, being some 50Ft x 25ft in size, which will allow much more space for our various projects. Meetings are held on Thursday evenings from 19.30 hrs until 22.00 hrs and Friday afternoons from 14.00 hrs until 17.00 hrs. Our clubroom, which is also available on a 24/7 basis to members, is situated near Aston Abbotts, which is approximately mid way between Leighton Buzzard in Bedfordshire and Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire. For more details concerning the location of our clubroom please e-mail our Hon Sec. who will be pleased to provide more information.
