With plenty of capacity, more members or occasional visitors with their stock are always welcome to join us for our monthly test track afternoon and evening.
Our new four-track test track is quickly assembled, and with around twelve regulars and visitors, we see a wide range of stock in action, predominantly of the main-line end-of-steam type from the ten years that we all remember. This is well mixed with some rarer grouping and pre-grouping showings. There are rare electrics and diesels, and not enough steam of all sorts, so do bring your stock for a run - even if it is from-the-box ready-to-run. There is a wide range of skills and knowledge in the group to draw on, and there may be some garden and home visits arranged if you are interested.
The group meets on the second Wednesday of every month, from either 4:00pm onwards or 7:30 onwards at the Avonmouth Sea Cadet Centre adjacent to the Lamplighters Inn, Station Road, Shirehampton BS11 9XA. Drive past the Inn, and bear sharp right through gates into the Centre yard on the Avon river bank.
