Track Tester

I bought this track tester via eBay a while ago. It is produced by Mike Cullen under the 'MyKontrols' name.

It works on both DC and DCC systems. There are two lights to indicate a good DCC circuit or a single indicator to confirm the +VE rail on DC, which is handy as our layout has both systems.

Recently our club has been modifying an O gauge layout and this device has proved very helpful. I sourced some more for club members although the professional electrician amongst us prefers to stick to his meter. I prefer this device as the leads don't get caught up the scenery and it is much quicker to use than a meter. I will admit though that I still need my meter where there is complicated track work.

Having just read the instructions, there is a cautionary note about turning off track power before using the unit. I must admit I have not followed that warning and my device hasn't suffered.

The device also works on OO gauge. All in all a great little addition to the tool box.
