As you can see from the illustrations I have used this device to keep poisonous fumes away from me whilst soldering. I keep the solder and flux close to it so that the fumes are absorbed by the large carbon filter in the extractor. The motor and fan are powerful enough to drag the fumes into itself from reasonably close quarters.
Description: A mains-powered unit for the filtration and removal of soldering and other fumes from the immediate vicinity of the user. When soldering in the workplace or classroom, it is advisable to have some kind of fume extraction or fume filtering system. The unit removes fumes safely and efficiently by drawing the air through replaceable carbon filters. Simply place the filter close to the work area and switch it on.
