Omen Miniatures legless seated passengers set

Taken from the forum 2017

You may recall on my Kirk coach thread the discussion on passengers and their sizes etc.

I noted in the trade section of the last Gazette that Omen Miniatures had brought out a pack of 20 legless, seated passengers designed to fit in coaches where leg room may be an issue for £30.

I am just about to embark upon a Kirk twin art for Don and having seen the advert, suggested that he consider them. He was happy to go ahead so I contacted Nigel Smith via the website because I couldn't find them on the site. Nigel advised that they were a new product and would be in the Reading catalogue this weekend. He gave me instructions on how to buy and I duly ordered a set.

Despite obviously preparing for Reading Nigel still made time to put them in the post for me (I only made payment on Wed evening) and they arrived this morning.

Great service, well packed and nicely cast, good value at £1.50 per figure I thought.

I have been using those figures from China which are on EBay Rob….quite good really my last 50 figures cost 99p!

Hello Rob,
The figures look very good.
What paint will you use?
Have you tried painting figures with Gamesworkshop acrylic paint?
GW paint and washes (that's Gamesworkshop not Great Western!) brings figures to life compared with using enamels.
Regards,
Ian

I would endorse Ian's suggestion as to the GW paints.
Excellent though a trifle pricey! (Incidentally the local GW is always choc a bloc with youngsters hereabouts so they have cracked the recruitment issue!)

I use GW acrylics & Lifecolor which are also excellent for figure painting.

Hi Phill,
Do you buy them in Wakefield? If so can you point me at to where you get them?

Not difficult they have an excellent store finder
https://www.games-workshop.com/en-GB/store/storefinder.jsp?_requestid=6582182
In the Ridings centre
Although I really like GW Citadel paints they dry out too quickly for me (in their pots I mean)
I prefer the well-sealed Vallejo which also have some interesting dips etc.
Paul
PS The spray can black by GW is superb!
